Well, the battle goes on here in Texas for most people to protect the honor and status of the horse. State Senators and House Representatives are trying to sneak in "end around" legislation that is generated for their special interests to circumvent the recent Federal ruling that closed the two horse slaughterhouses in North Texas. Horse slaughtering may be the new terrorism that Americans need to battle.

Wild Horses Win Again in US House of Representatives
The US House of Representatives today resoundingly reaffirmed what it originally declared in 1971 – America’s wild, free-roaming horses and burros must be protected from commercial exploitation and the cruel slaughter industry. In a tremendous victory on behalf of all horses, the House passed H.R. 249 with a vote of 277 to 137, restoring the prohibition on the commercial sale and slaughter of wild free-roaming horses and burros.

Illinois House Says "No" to Horse Slaughter
The Illinois House of Representatives voted 75-40 Wednesday on H.B. 1711, a bill to ban horse slaughter for human consumption. The legislation will now move on to the Illinois Senate, with the goal of stopping the cruel practice in the state.
